Fei Lam brings more than two decades of experience to Stern, Lavinthal & Frankenberg, where she serves as Partner and Managing Attorney and plays a central role in the firm’s New Jersey and New York default practices.
Her work spans commercial and residential real estate, foreclosure, civil litigation, landlord-tenant matters, secured transactions, commercial real estate financing, contract law, condominium law, consumer compliance, and business and corporate matters. She is particularly experienced in managing foreclosure matters from the earliest filing stages through sale, while ensuring that pre-foreclosure notices, procedural requirements, and client timelines remain compliant and on track.
Fei supervises the firm’s foreclosure teams in both New Jersey and New York and oversees contested matters in New York. As Managing Attorney, she is also responsible for timeline management across the default process, helping ensure that matters continue moving efficiently despite the procedural complexity that often accompanies mortgage servicing work.
Her experience extends well beyond foreclosure. Fei has handled commercial and residential real estate transactions and originations, represented lenders in CEMA transactions, warehouse financing, construction loans, and participation loans, and worked with nonprofit organizations on EDA financing. She has also negotiated and managed note sales on behalf of lenders and oversees a range of post-sale matters, including REO inventory and timelines.
Admitted in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, as well as multiple federal courts, Fei brings a broad regional perspective to the firm’s work and a practical understanding of how legal, operational, and servicing requirements intersect across jurisdictions.
What sets Fei apart is the combination of legal depth and operational discipline she brings to the practice. She understands the details, the deadlines, and the downstream consequences when something is missed. Her role is not only to manage files, but to help create consistency, accountability, and forward movement across the firm’s default work.
