Arizona state COVID-19 update provided by ZBS Law

Arizona’s governor just extended the moratorium on residential evictions. We can continue to file eviction actions and even obtain judgments, but the Sheriffs and Constables are not allowed to execute Writs of Restitution or do lockouts when the following circumstances exist and are documented to the property owner: (1) the individual is required to quarantine based on being diagnosed with COVID-19, (2) the individual is ordered to self-quarantine by a doctor, (3) the individual is required to quarantine because someone in the home is diagnosed with COVID-19, (4) the individual demonstrates a health condition that makes them more at risk for COVID-19, or (5) the individual suffered a substantial loss of income resulting from COVID-19. The prior moratorium was set to expire today, but the governor extended it through October 31, 2020.
